Urban_Sliders_26This 17 mile current assisted swim from East 26th Street, Manhattan to Steeplechase Pier, Coney Island commemorates the epic achievement of 17 year old Rose Pitonof.  Rose was the first person to successfully swim this route, earning her the woman’s title of Long Distance Swimming Champion of the World in 1911.  Solo swimmers and relay teams welcome.

Distance: 17 Miles | 27.5 Kilometers

Time Limit: 8 hours

Experience Requirement:  Proof of a continuous, unassisted three hour open water swim required by mid July 2023.
